Andre Sorrentino isn’t afraid to roll up his sleeves and get his hands dirty as the next Town of Huntington Highway Superintendent. With roads deteriorating and potholes taking too long to repair, Andre has both the private sector business experience to better manage the department and the governmental knowledge to improve operations and deliver real results for Huntington residents and motorists alike. He will fight for the necessary funding to repave roadways, fill potholes, ensure that streets are repaired and improve/streamline snow plow operations. Town of Huntington residents deserve better and there’s no stronger candidate to fix our roads than Andre.

A successful automotive repair shop owner, Andre began working in the business at just 13 years old. Through hard work, dedication to the job and honesty to customers, Andre climbed his way to the top – becoming owner of PAS Professional Automotive Services/Sorrentino Trucking on New York Avenue. This real-world work experience and success is the reason why the Huntington Town Board voted to appoint Andre as Director of General Services in 2018. As Director, Andre jumpstarted improvements throughout the Town. From playground repairs to beautification of the Village Green and Heckscher Park, Andre led the charge to make these facilities safe for children and beautiful for families to enjoy. To improve our suburban quality of life and attract financial support from the private sector, Andre implemented an Adopt-A-Corner program and combatted neighborhood eyesores by overseeing hundreds of successful property cleanups. He managed renovations at the senior center and Veterans Plaza, and is saving taxpayers money by installing LED lighting at Town facilities.

A Fire Commissioner for the Huntington Fire District, Andre is dedicated to the safety of our residents and property. During this COVID-19 public health pandemic, Andre has helped managed one of the largest departments on Long Island while ensuring safety of first responders as well as effective response time for residents during emergencies.

Helping families is nothing new for Andre Sorrentino. He and his family are known in our community for raising charitable donations to feed meals to thousands of disadvantaged residents and first responders who are forced to work on holidays. In fact, he has collected donations and delivered nonperishable food to places as far away as Texas. When it comes recognizing his charitable nature, Andre always credits his father, Andre Sorrentino Sr., the owner of Andre’s Shoe Repair in Huntington.

A lifelong resident of the Town, Andre Sorrentino graduated from Huntington High School.  He resides in Huntington with this wife, Kimberly, and their two daughters.
